Women at the Helm of Technology and Innovation in Africa: Afrilabs Malawi MeetUp | KWATHU KOLLECTIVE

Represented by the Kwathu Kollective Managing Director, Ms. Rhoda Kamwaza, we were among the organizations that participated in the Afrilabs Malawi City Meetup event held at Mhub in Lilongwe. The event, hosted by Mzuzu EHub in partnership with AfrilLabs, brought together industry professionals, tech enthusiasts, and innovators to share knowledge, network, and explore the latest trends in technology and innovation.

Compliments of the new week from the Managing Director of Mzuzu Ehub – Ms. Wangiwe Kambuzi, with the Managing Director at the Kwathu Kollective — Ms. Rhoda Kamwaza: two ladies working extremely hard, towards closing the #DigitalDivide in Malawi.

The event got us thinking about women at the helm of closing the Digital Divide in Africa. A few weeks ago, we held a #KwathuUpgrade training to commemorate #WomensHistoryMonth – and our panelists during the launch event emphasised how imperative it is to emphasize the importance of having women in leadership roles, as we work towards closing the digital divide in Africa.

Women bring unique perspectives, insights, and experiences to the table, which are essential for developing inclusive and sustainable solutions to bridge the digital gap. By empowering women to take on leadership positions in technology and innovation sectors, we not only promote gender equality but also ensure that diverse voices are heard and represented in decision-making processes. Through inclusive leadership, we can foster greater collaboration, creativity, and innovation, driving meaningful progress towards a digitally inclusive Africa for all.
