A Milestone for the Kwathu Community
Our founder, Nthanda Manduwi, was recognized with the Most Inspiring Female Business Leader award at the Consumer Choice Awards Malawi 2026.
While awards often carry individual names, moments like these are rarely individual achievements.
This recognition reflects years of building communities, creating opportunities, navigating uncertainty, and choosing to continue building even when easier paths existed. It represents the volunteers who gave their time, the young people who trusted our programmes, the partners who believed in our vision, and the communities that continue to shape the work we do every day.
For Kwathu Kollective, this recognition is particularly meaningful because our story has never simply been about creating programmes. It has always been about creating systems that allow creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and talent to thrive.
From our earliest digital skills programmes to entrepreneurship initiatives, innovation hubs, fellowships, and community-building work across Africa, our mission has remained consistent: to bridge worlds through creativity and innovation.
As an organization born in Malawi and growing beyond borders, we also recognize what moments like these represent for many young Africans watching.
You do not need to come from the biggest market.
You do not need to wait for perfect conditions.
You do not need permission to build.
You can start where you are.
Recognition is important because it creates visibility. Visibility creates opportunity. Opportunity creates impact.
But awards themselves are temporary.
The work ahead matters more.
As we continue building the next chapter of Kwathu Kollective — expanding programmes, strengthening partnerships, and investing in future generations of creators, innovators, entrepreneurs, and problem-solvers — we carry this recognition not as a destination, but as motivation.
To everyone who has been part of this journey:
Thank you.
We are just getting started.
