Career Day Partnership with Good Shepherd International Schools | KWATHU KAREERS

On February 12, 2025, Kwathu Kollective had the privilege of partnering with Good Shepherd International School (GSIS) for their Career Day, an event dedicated to inspiring and guiding students toward future career opportunities. Representing Kwathu Kollective, Justin Mtunga and Abigail Zingani engaged with students, offering insights into business development as a career and the growing importance of digital skills in today’s workforce.

Exploring Business Development as a Career

The session provided students with a deep dive into business development, a career path that integrates strategic thinking, networking, and entrepreneurship. Students explored key opportunities within the field, learning how business development plays a crucial role in corporate growth and innovation. Through interactive discussions, they gained practical knowledge on how to navigate this career path and the essential skills required to excel.

Empowering Students Through Digital Skills

A key highlight of the day was our emphasis on digital skills as a necessary tool for success in the modern workforce. Kwathu Kollective introduced Digital Skills for Africa (DSA) as a pathway for students to enhance their technical competencies, digital literacy, and career readiness. We discussed how access to digital training can bridge knowledge gaps and empower students to be more competitive in today’s job market. The engagement encouraged students to actively seek digital education opportunities to complement their career aspirations.

Aligning with the Kwathu Kareers Initiative

Our participation in GSIS Career Day was a significant milestone for Kwathu Kareers, an initiative dedicated to providing career guidance, mentorship, and skill-building opportunities for young people. Attending this event reinforced our mission to connect students with practical career insights, industry knowledge, and digital education pathways that will prepare them for the evolving job market.

Conclusion

Partnering with Good Shepherd International School for Career Day was an invaluable experience, allowing Kwathu Kollective to engage with students meaningfully while reinforcing the importance of digital skills and business development as career paths. We look forward to continued collaboration with GSIS, ensuring that students have access to mentorship, training, and digital literacy programs that will help shape their futures.
