We’ve Been Nominated: ICT Awards | KWATHU KOLLECTIVE

We are thrilled to share that the Kwathu Kollective, under the umbrella of the Ntha Foundation, has been nominated for the prestigious 2025 ICTAM Corporate Awards.

The ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM) has recognized our work in the following two categories:

1. ICT Education & Skills Development
2. Women-Led ICT Firm

This nomination comes as a humbling affirmation of the work we continue to do at the Kwathu Kollective—empowering creators, technologists, and innovators through digital skills programming, coworking space incubation, and creative industry support across Malawi and beyond.

Our journey has always been driven by vision. What began as a digital skills initiative in Malawi has grown into a Pan-African ecosystem builder, supporting young creators, entrepreneurs, and early-stage technologists in underserved markets. Our restructuring in 2024 marked a major milestone: Ntha Foundation was officially registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the United States, and the local operations transitioned fully into the Kwathu Kollective identity. While the Ntha Foundation name remains widely recognized in Malawi, Kwathu is now our home brand—anchoring a new chapter of continental ambition.

We are proud to be led by a young, dynamic, all-women team and to be recognized for exactly that. With operations currently headquartered at Excel Primary School in Mangochi, and a growing network of partner hubs across the region, we are just getting started.

The awards ceremony will be held during the 2025 ICT Expo from June 5th to 6th at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe, under the theme:
“Accelerating Malawi’s Digital Economy: Innovation, Inclusion, and Sustainable Growth.”

Our Founder, Nthanda Manduwi, who is currently completing her MBA summer internship with Microsoft in Redmond, Washington, shared the following:

“This recognition means so much. It reflects the years of hard work, strategic pivots, and belief in building something that lasts. As I connect with global tech leaders here at Microsoft, I am even more convinced that Malawi deserves to be on the map. This nomination is a reminder that we are not only visible—but we are viable.”

We look forward to the Gala and the opportunity to connect with fellow leaders and changemakers across Malawi’s ICT sector. Thank you to ICTAM for this recognition—and to our partners, team, and community who make this work possible.
