We are delighted to celebrate the graduation of the fifth cohort of the M’mawa Apprenticeship Programme (MAP). Having recently completed their studies at the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST), these outstanding young professionals have successfully completed a journey of practical training, mentorship, and hands-on project experience through the Kwathu Kollective.
Representing the Business Information Technology and Computer Systems & Security programmes, Cohort 5 has spent the past several months contributing to real-world initiatives spanning artificial intelligence, digital transformation, agriculture, robotics, research, entrepreneurship, and systems development. Throughout the programme, they have demonstrated professionalism, curiosity, resilience, and a genuine commitment to learning.

About the M’mawa Apprenticeship Programme (MAP)
The M’mawa Apprenticeship Programme (MAP) is a work-integrated learning initiative designed to bridge the gap between university education and professional practice. Through structured mentorship, practical project work, and exposure to multidisciplinary teams, apprentices gain real-world experience while developing technical, leadership, communication, and professional skills.
MAP is built on the belief that meaningful learning happens through experience, collaboration, and purposeful engagement with real challenges.

Andrew Kaimaima
Computer Systems & Security
Andrew Kaimaima is passionate about cybersecurity, systems thinking, and emerging technologies. Throughout the programme, he contributed to research and innovation initiatives focused on smart agriculture, simulation systems, and technology-enabled development.
Angella Banda
Business Information Technology
Angella Banda is a Business Information Technology graduate whose interests lie at the intersection of business strategy and technology. During her apprenticeship, she served as Team Leader for the Q2 Systems Project, coordinating initiatives across artificial intelligence, robotics, digital skills, and systems development while providing leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
Lawrent Chowe
Computer Systems & Security
Lawrent Chowe has a strong interest in secure digital systems and practical technology solutions. Through MAP, he strengthened his technical capabilities while contributing to collaborative projects involving innovation management and digital systems implementation.
Noel Andrea
Computer Systems & Security
Noel Andrea is passionate about applying technology to agriculture and innovation ecosystems. During the programme, he supported research on digital farming, smart agriculture, and technology commercialization, exploring how digital systems can improve productivity and sustainability.
Siphat Kambona
Computer Systems &Security
Siphat Kambona is passionate about cybersecurity, digital systems, and emerging technologies. Through the apprenticeship, she contributed to projects focused on simulation technologies, smart agriculture, and innovation while further developing her research, communication, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
Looking Ahead
As MAP Cohort 5 begins the next chapter of their careers, we are excited to see the impact they will make across Malawi and beyond. Their graduation reflects not only their personal achievements but also the continued success of the partnership between the Kwathu Kollective and the Malawi University of Science and Technology in preparing future innovators, technologists, and leaders.
