About Noel

Noel Andrea is a final-year Computer Systems and Security student at the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) with a strong passion for cybersecurity, secure systems design, and digital innovation. His academic training has provided him with a solid foundation in secure systems architecture, network security, infrastructure protection, and cybersecurity principles, equipping him with both theoretical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills.

Driven by a desire to strengthen Africa’s digital future, Noel has developed interests that extend beyond cybersecurity into technology leadership, digital transformation, and community empowerment. He is particularly passionate about creating secure, scalable, and sustainable technology solutions that enable individuals and organizations to thrive in an increasingly connected world.

His Journey at Kwathu

Noel is currently undertaking his internship with the Kwathu Kollective through the M’mawa Apprenticeship Programme (MAP), where he contributes to technology-driven initiatives focused on innovation, digital skills development, and community impact. Through this experience, he applies his knowledge of cybersecurity, software development, networking, and systems administration to real-world projects that support digital inclusion and technological advancement.

Beyond his technical contributions, Noel has demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership and community building. He is the Founder of the MUST Computer Science and Information Technology (MUST CIST) Society, an initiative that brings together students from the Computer Systems and Security (CSS) and Business Information Technology (BIT) programmes to promote collaboration, mentorship, knowledge sharing, and professional growth within the technology community.

At Kwathu Kollective, Noel also serves as Team Lead for the Digital Skills for Africa (DSA) Project, where he coordinates initiatives designed to enhance digital literacy and equip young people with practical technology skills. As a digital advocate, he actively promotes responsible technology use, cybersecurity awareness, and digital transformation across communities and institutions.

Known for his leadership, initiative, and commitment to continuous learning, Noel combines technical expertise with a passion for service and impact. He aspires to build a career in cybersecurity engineering and secure systems architecture, contributing to the development of resilient digital infrastructure while helping shape Africa’s growing technology ecosystem.
