Women Creatives in Malawi Training | KWATHU KONNECT

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership between Kwathu Kollective and the Malawi Government’s Department of Arts. This collaboration aims to empower women creatives in Malawi through comprehensive training sessions focused on gender equality, business development, and digital skills.

About the Partnership

The Department of Arts has recognized the need to support women in the creative industry by providing them with essential skills and knowledge. Kwathu Kollective, with its extensive experience in delivering digital skills training, is honored to be a part of this initiative. Together, we will conduct workshops in Blantyre and Lilongwe, ensuring that women across Malawi have access to these valuable resources.

Training Details

The training sessions will be held in person, with the Blantyre session scheduled for March 17-18, 2025, at Larchevio Lodge, and the Lilongwe session on March 20-21, 2025, at Lingadzi Inn. Each session will last for 1 hour and 30 minutes, providing an in-depth exploration of the topics at hand. Participants will also benefit from an allowance to cover accommodation, ensuring they can fully engage in the training without financial strain.

Key Focus Areas

  1. Gender Equality: Understanding and addressing gender disparities in the arts.
  2. Business Development: Equipping women with the skills to manage and grow their creative enterprises.
  3. Digital Skills: Enhancing digital literacy to help women creatives thrive in the modern, tech-driven world.

Incorporating E-Learning

In addition to the in-person sessions, we are excited to integrate the workshop content into our e-learning platform, Digital Skills for Africa. This will allow women who cannot attend the workshops in person to access the training materials online, ensuring broader reach and impact.

Looking Forward

We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the Department of Arts and are committed to making this initiative a success. We believe that by empowering women in the arts, we can foster a more inclusive and dynamic creative industry in Malawi.

Stay tuned for more updates and insights from the workshops. Together, we can make a difference!
