Maziko Gilbert Dunkalo is a final-year undergraduate student at the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST), pursuing a degree in Business Information and Technology. With a strong passion for data analysis and software engineering, Maziko is a driven, innovative, and detail-oriented individual eager to make a significant impact in the professional world.
Maziko’s academic journey began at NACIT, where he earned Level 4 and Level 5 Advanced Diplomas in Business Information and Technology under Greenwich University. His time at MUST has further cemented his passion for leveraging technology to solve real-world challenges, particularly for small businesses.
A Transformative Opportunity
Maziko has joined the Kwathu Kollective as part of the M’mawa Apprenticeship Programme (MAP) Cohort 5, a full-time, voluntary training initiative designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application. The MAP programme offers apprentices like Maziko a unique combination of in-class lessons and on-the-job training, focusing on essential areas such as administration, communication, digital skills, and project management.
Maziko views this opportunity as a transformative journey, allowing him to gain invaluable technical and soft skills while working on impactful projects within the Kwathu Kollective.
Contributions and Aspirations
Maziko has already demonstrated his capabilities through impressive contributions, including:
- Developing the Kaphonde Egg Incubator Information System to streamline agricultural operations.
- Designing a Digital Suggestion Box for human resource departments to enhance employee feedback mechanisms.
- Currently working on an Information Sales System for Tee-Tee Chilies, aimed at improving business operations and driving growth.
With a vision to develop innovative solutions that enhance business efficiency, productivity, and sustainability, Maziko is deeply committed to using technology as a tool for empowerment and progress.
